How difficult is it to change the timing belt on a 2002 Nissan maxima? What tools and steps do I need to take? Can a guy with basic tool and automechanics skills do it or does it need to go to the nissan shop?
What are the steps to change a timing belt on a 2002 Nissan Maxima?
No steps, no timing belt. The Max like all late-model Nissan's uses a Timing Chain, not a belt which never has to be serviced.
What are the steps to change a timing belt on a 2002 Nissan Maxima?
Maxima comes with 3.0-liter DOHC 222-horsepower (3.5-liter 255-horsepower from 2002) V6 engine model VQ, also found in the Nissan Pathfinder and Murano. With ample power, excellent low-end torque, advanced lightweight design and high durability, this engine is one of the best in its class. Good news, there is no timing belt that would need regular replacement, silent chain is used instead. Platinum spark plugs provide longer service intervals.
If your asking this type of question your probably not qualified to be given steps on how to change it. Just looking out for you and wouldn't want for you to mess anything up with your car. It's best that you just bring it in.

How much can it cost to change the timing belt of a mitsubishi 97 galant?
My timing belt are sceaming when i'm running my car. They told me it needs to be changed. I want to know how much it can cost in total to change them. The car is a mitsubishi galant 97.

Are you sure they said timing belt? Timing belts don't generally scream, they are internal and if not working, your vehicle won't run. Perhaps they said serpentine belt, more likely, which can get glazed and cracked and slip and scream, louder as you accelerate.
In either case, cost will be the cost of parts, plus the labor rate times the number of hours to fix the problem. If it's the timing belt it will be more since covers will have to be removed, etc. Serpentine belt is fairly simple.

i would say it was your alternator/fan belt which is screaming, not the timing belt. for a start, your timing belt has teeth on it, which prevents it slippin, if it did slip, you would know cos your car would run differently. ask at another garage, for a new alternator belt changing, its no more than 50 quid. for a timing belt, no more than 200 quid. defo try the alternator belt first tho, and save money
ya timeing would cast round 500-600bucks cuz you have to pull the motor but the timing shouldnt slip if it would your car would back fire alot and maby stall id spray belt dressing on the alinaor belt to be sure thats it
prob about 200 bucks, if it breaks it will cost you 2000 in repairs or more its worth the money to pay someonehair bands asp net web hosting

Is it possible to change timing belt and fuel filter of Honda CRV 2000 without disconneting battery?

Is it possible to change timing belt and fuel filter of Honda CRV 2000 without disconneting battery?
Yes, but it's always better to disconnect the battery when it's not needed for testing or servicing the vehicle.
Is it possible to change timing belt and fuel filter of Honda CRV 2000 without disconneting battery?
u probley could but it wouldnt be safe
no problem.
You should ALWAYS disconnect the battery.Call the Honda dealer, give them the VIN # and they should be able to give you the code. They may want proof of ownership.
the dealer should give the code to you easily.
when working on any car (you always have to disconnect the battery)because when working on a car anything can go wrong so disconnecting the battery will ensure you that nothing will hurt you or go wrong.
fuel filter means careful work so is the timing belt or chain.
hope everything works out fine!
mechanic for 17 years!
sure you could do that.

My sebring 2001 doesnt want to start? after i change the timing belt?
i change the timing belt, and it work like a week, and i just came out of my work and doesnt want to start, i change the battery and still like if the battery is dead, When i change the belt it was one tooth back, and just one pulley and i started, and i stopped casue the motor feel wierd and i put the belt right and i started and work fine, sobut after a week broked down, it like the motor is so heavy to start and kill the battery so quickly.

If you changed your timing belt and did not adjust the number one cylinder to top dead center than it would cause this other then it is electronic i would take it to the dealership and have them put it on thier computer

What cars have timing belts?
What cars have timing chains not belts besides newer Toyotas? And when do you REALLY need to change the belts? Do you ever have to change the chains? Now the trucks, I know a Ranger has a belt, but most other trucks have chains?
Thanks.
What cars have timing belts?
i would check to see if the car you are looking at has a %26quot;interferance%26quot; engine or an engine that the piston will hit the valves if the timing belt breaks. if not then usually new cars can go for 100,000 or more before needing it done but if it does have a interferance engine, i would do it every 60,000
What cars have timing belts?
These days 99% or more of the vehicles have belts. For peace of mind 50k to 60k is a good changing interval. If you have a close tolerance engine the valves will hit the pistons when the belt snaps. VERY COSTLY to repair.
My '99 Nissan has a chain, alot of imports use chains, its cheaper in the long run.
Timing belts or chains are only used in engines that have overhead cams. Most American cars have overhead valves with push rods and therefore dont have timing belts. Some very recent American engines are using overhead cams and therefore have timing belts or chains.
I have a 2001 Saab, and Saab has always used timing chains, which dont require replacement. I also have a 2002 Honda Odyssey which has a timing belt that needs replacing at 105K miles.
Thanks.

How much to change Timing Belt on 2001 Toyota Solara?
Have to get it changed soon. What am I looking at paying?
How much to change Timing Belt on 2001 Toyota Solara?
I Just got my 99 Solara done.I don't know where these other people got their prices for a dealer to do the work..but when you get your timing belt, you also need to get your water pump changed. This is always done because if the water pump goes bad, they must tear the engine apart again to do it, and if the timing belt needs to be done, it is highly likely that the water pump needs to be done too. Both these things can be done at the same time because the engine is open. I paid $1200 at the Toyota dealer to have it done properly. Good luck.
How much to change Timing Belt on 2001 Toyota Solara?
250-500 bucks depends on where you live and where you go to get it done.
It's $149.95 at our dealership.
